31 Day Challenge Day 6 - Violet

Aloha! Today I have a super quick post of my Violet nails for Day 6 of the challenge. I love this shade of violet. It's super soft and works well with other colors for different nail designs. I mean who doesn't like purple...?  It's my favorite color! ;) On my ring I chose to do a  puzzle design using other shades of grey and purple.
Thanks for stoping by!

Bust out your scrap booking scissors....

Aloha everyone! I wanted to try a new technique that I learned from watching a YouTube tutorial on taped manicures. It basically involves applying nail polish to scotch tape and cutting it into strips once it's dry. Shout out to cutepolish for the inspiration and the cool idea! After watching it I just had to try it. Here are my results. What do you guys think?

I did get a few bubbles after I added the top coat :(

To learn more about this technique...check out cutepolish's YouTube video here

Supplies:
  • Essie- Mint Candy Apple
  • OPI- My boyfriend scales walls
  • Zoya- Goldie
  • OPI- Top Coat
  • Delicate design scrap booking scissors
With a little practice and creativity I'm sure I can do better than this look, but hey it's always fun to try new things. Til next time..

Have a great day!

Independence Day Mani

Hello everyone! Today I have an early Independence Day design. I recreated the American flag by using red nail art tape for the stripes and Konad plate 3 for the stars. The tape came in rolls which I cut using small sewing scissors and applied to my dry polish.  I ended up getting 10 rolls of (various colors) tape for $4.45 on suntekstore.com. Stoked right? Um not really...it took them over 6 weeks before it left their warehouse and another 2-3 weeks before I could get it- claiming it was stuck in customs. lol  I mean I could have paddled a canoe to Hong Kong and brought it home myself in the time it took them to mail it, but that's ok. I still love it! The shine on this thing just doesn't quit!

Apologies for being out of focus.
Supplies:
  • Chine Glaze- Frostbite
  • Zoya- Snow White
  • Konad M3
  • Konad special white polish
  • red nail tape
  • Seche Vite top coat
Have a great weekend!!
And for all of us Yankees... Happy 4th of July!

Black & White

Hi there, I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!! Today I have stamping manicure and this idea came to me as a way to stretch my black polish from my previous manicure (the black stained glass mani) so instead of having to start from scratch I only had to remove the polish from my accent nails.

Anywho...this what I came up with using Konad plate M60 and ring binder re- enforcements to create the half-moon action on my ring finger and thumb =)
The finished look kind of reminded me of those wrap/sticker manicures.

Supplies:
  • OPI by Sephora- Who Needs a Tire Jack
  • Konad Special White Polish
  • OPI Top Coat
  • Konad plate M60
Thanks for viewing!

Bohemian Inspired Mani

Hey Hey....so here is an easy boho inspired mani. It's super simple to do & I think it could pass as "work appropriate?" hee hee Leave a comment and tell me what you think =)

Supplies:
  • Zoya- Minka
  • Color Club- New Bohemian
  • Color Club- Earthy Angel
  • 5 piece dotting tool set from www.amazon.com

Tips:

I found that keeping the dotting tool vertical at all times (not letting it slant) helps with uniformity.

Have a good day!

Mahalo~
